This program is designed for adults who want to get on the ice to improve their basic hockey skills. Sessions will begin with technical instruction from Jets Hockey Development professional coaches which will lead into drills working on specific topics. The goal of this program will be to help players build confidence in their game no matter their ability.

Time: Mondays 8:30 PM July 7- August 18 weeks 1-6 | timing TBD for gameplay portion.

Duration: (60-minute sessions)

THE SIMPLE PROCESS TO BECOME A HOCKEY PLAYER

This program is comprised of two sections. The first 6 weeks focus on the fundamentals led by the Jets Hockey Development team (a part of True North Sports & Entertainment and the hockey for all centre) , and the final weeks focus on game scenarios, ending with full recreational games. This program is specifically designed to be a safe, inclusive place to play without worry about where your skills are at! 

WEEK 1-6: FUNDAMENTALS

The first six weeks are led by Jets Hockey Development staff, who focus on the fundamentals and helping each player build confidence no matter their starting ability. This will include skating, puck-handling, passing, shooting, And more. 

WEEK 7+: GAMES

The next weeks will be led by the Winnipeg Rec Hockey League. The first sessions will involve semi-controlled games, where our official/coach will occasionally intervene or control the games to ensure fundamentals of gameplay are learned. The final sessions will be games without involvement.
