Introduction
Being a team captain or alternate is hard work, and we at the Winnipeg Rec Hockey League want to recognize and reward your dedication. The WRHL Ambassador Program is designed to give captains and alternates the opportunity to earn personal rewards for their contributions to the league while helping make WRHL better for everyone. With no risk or downside, this program is a win-win for captains who want to maximize their value while doing what they already excel at—leading and supporting their teams.
How It Works
Eligibility & Credits
- Eligibility: Available exclusively to captains and alternates. Special approval can be given for other team members.
- Credit System: Earn WRHL credit based on reaching point thresholds:
- 100 points = $500 WRHL credit
- 200 points = $1,000 WRHL credit
- Usage: Credit is issued in the captain's name and can be applied toward either team registration or free agent registration when ready to use.
- Timing: Credit can be used in either the following Summer or Winter season after completion. For example, Winter 2024/25 program credit is valid for Summer 2025 and Winter 2025/26 seasons only.
- Timeframe: The current launch program is active from January 1 until August 30 2025.

Bonuses

Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I don't reach the points threshold?
There's no penalty for not reaching the threshold, but you won't qualify for credit.
How do I use the credit?
Credit is applied toward your team's registration for the following season. Captains are encouraged to use the credit for themselves, as they're the ones completing the work.
Can credits be combined across captains?
No. Credits are tied to individual captains' activities. If both team captains enroll, they must reach their thresholds independently.
Can I scout games or recruit during playoffs?
You can fulfill the referral or recruitment portion
Can I participate if I'm not a captain or alternate?
Special approval can be granted. Email us for details.
Can the credit be used for multiple seasons?
No. Credits expire at the conclusion of the same type of season in the following year (e.g., Winter 2024/25 credits must be used by the end of Winter 2025/26).
How do you track a team referral?
Teams registering will have the opportunity to list a referring member(s). We can also manually tag the connection afterwards!
Terms and Conditions
- Credits cannot be used to pay for the current season or in arrears.
- Points for team registrations are only earned once the team has registered AND paid their deposit.
- Points for consultations are only earned once the meeting has taken place.
- The extended eligibility period (current Winter AND Summer seasons) allows participants to earn points year-round, even if they only play in one season. This is particularly beneficial as Winter registrations often occur during Summer windows and vice versa.
